Day 7 at Montague
Day 6 at Montague: Not Montague
Short post today:
Conditions at the start today were very weak until mid-afternoon. By the time the 15-meter gliders were airborne for their contest day, it was too late to send up the open class. Team JOY decided to spend the free evening on the rim of Crater Lake, which hosts open class mosquito championships every summer (as in Culicidae, not Hyaloptera). We marveled and kept moving.
The forecast for tomorrow looks strong. Overheard: “the kind of day you take off work for.” Crater Lake is 83 miles north of Montague, and we may not have seen the last of it. Stay tuned…
